MONOCLE TRAVEL GUIDE - BANGKOK

" Japanese Precision "
For durable eyewear in classic shapes, Rosemanclub’s flagship store (with a big orange door so even
the short-sighted can find it) is the place to seek out. The two young designers behind the counter are share
a fascination with style and materials that stand the test of time. This is reflected in the duo’s choice of business
setting: a half-century-old shop that has been fitted out to favour their personal collection of antiques.
Rosemanclub’s eyewear pieces are handcrafted in Japan’s Fukui prefecture, a region
renowned for the production of spectacles. Thus, so the founders believe,
quality and thoughtfulness in their design is guaranteed.
The Monocle Travel Guide to Bangkok is available now at The Monocle Shop
and Asiabook, their official distributor bookstore chain in Thailand.

" Moody Mondays "
I’m really happy to announce that i’m the first blogger worldwide to present two models of the new rosemanclub collection
for summer: the brand new charlie marsala (pantone color of the year) and the mori camouflage with mirrored clip on.
All their glasses are handmade in japan. While unpacking you already realize there is much love for details
and a good sense of craftsmanship in their products. I love the simple and elegant look. They are inspired
by japanese design. The idea behind the brand is all about good design, durability and affordable prices.

"Rose Between Thorns"
New labels from established Thai designers
Having started life almost a year ago as an eyewear brand designed in Bangkok but made in Japan
with an online shop, Rosemanclub has now launch a brick-and-mortar shop on the corner of Chula Soi 11.
Eyewear comes in eight main designs starting from the wayfarer-esque Ryu, the vintage square lens
Smith and the fashionable clip-on. Not only are the glasses nicely designed, they also come with
friendly price tags - which also cover prescription lenses should you need them
(they’ve partnered up with an optician). The Rosemanclub is not only the brand’s
showroom, but half its space is devoted to displaying clothing and accessories
the owners have brought back from many countries: expect items from Australian
menswear brand W.G. Trunk Co. and many more from around the world.

GOODS WE LIKE
November 2014
Rosemanclub is a minimal and timeless eyewear brand from Thailand with the aim to produce glasses
that can be used everyday and never be out of style. The two models on the pictures are called
HARU BLACK LAVA and KIN PEARL. Both models successfully combine classic design with
a modern aesthetic. Each pair of glasses is carefully packed in a specially designed box
and case, which makes unwrapping your new glasses as much fun as wearing them.

Eye Spy Chic Sunnies
The seasonal swelter has already descended over Bangkok, which means only one thing for the city-slick set – it’s time
to invest in a spiffy new pair of sunnies. And as if on cue, online Bangkok-born (but Nippon-made) eyewear brand
Rosemanclub has opened its first ever bricks-n-mortar store on Chula Soi 11. Behind a pair of vibrant orange doors
you’ll find a cool curio-crammed store boasting a spec-tacular stash of bespoke locally designed unisex glasses.
The frame game here is strong with styles ranging from timeless tortoiseshell-rimmed rounds to vintage wayfarer
lookalikes and angular black square-eyes. All are available with tinted or clear prescription lenses, while most
can be fitted with a clever convertible clip-on so you can see and retain that aloof A-lister allure – snap!
And, best of all, the friendly price tags won’t have you questioning your retinas...(read more)
